The White House has issued a formal veto threat against CISPA, stating that the bill “endangered Americans’ privacy and inappropriately shielded private companies from liability.” While this seems like a victory, I’m reminded of the turnaround time between SOPA being shot down and CISPA being brought into existence; each time we score a victory, another slightly different bill appears to be lurking in the corner waiting to take the others’ place.
