    In 2010 Jeff Weiner, CEO of LinkedIn, coined the term 'Economic Graph' to show that Linkedin, similar to Facebook with its social graph, had a valuable and differentiated social network where relevant, 3rd party news content should live. Back then, however, LinkedIn only had transactional content, such as notifications of new network connections. There wasn’t even much congrats-ing and liking, there was mostly just lurking.
