Chris Hughes, the owner, publisher, and editor-in-chief of the New Republic, joined us on Thursday to discuss his experiences as a co-founder of Facebook, a member of Obama’s 2007 presidential campaign, and now owner of a nearly 100-year-old magazine.

Hughes talked about the role government can play in technological advancement; why he isn’t a member of FWD.us, the Joe Green-founded and Mark Zuckerberg-backed lobbying group; how Obama’s campaign went viral; and why the separation between the editorial and business aspects of a company is outdated.
