#StopYahoo: David Sacks Goes After Yahoo Again and I Love It.

This is awesome. David Sacks is just lobbing punch-after-punch at Yahoo. Yesterday he said he wouldn't hire anyone ever who didn't leave Yahoo in the next sixty days. Now he is adding some carrot to the stick, offering a $25,000 bonus to anyone who leaves Yahoo to join Yammer now.

— David Sacks (@DavidSacks) March 15, 2012 This is exactly the kind of social pressure I was hoping we'd see on Yahoo after its threats to sue Facebook over basic Web functionality.

It doesn't matter how you feel about Facebook-- it is clearly strong enough to weather this and the company has a history of fighting these kinds of things. The point is it would set a precedent for Yahoo going after far more fledgling startups that it felt threatened by. And that's just wrong.

People keep quipping that Yammer isn't big enough to have much impact. That's not the point. This should be a groundswell, not unlike the Stop SOPA campaign. The more startups banding together against Yahoo trying to control the Web, the better.

We'll throw in a free subscription to PandoMonthly to any Yahoo employees that take Sacks up on the offer. ;)
