Founders never forget the people who join their company before it's really anything. Especially those who do work for said company for free. Such was Dana Zemack who did free illustrations for Pando in our earliest days before we could afford illustrators and art directors. Her astoundingly expressive stick figures dotted our pages before we even really knew what our editorial voice was.

Like a lot of illustrators, Zemack has a day job but always is trying to find ways to do what she loves. She has just launched a Kickstarter campaign for a book of her illustrations. If you're nostalgic for the very early Pando days or just think occasionally people should be able to get paid to produce art, go back it now. It's half way to its modest goal of just $4,500.
