I never, ever open PR pitches that arrive in my email. Sometimes, though, I accidentally read the subject line before hitting delete.

Take, for example, the pitch that just landed in my inbox:

“Story idea: IceCream vs Facebook Moments”

Again, without opening the email, I have to admit. That is a good idea for a story. A list of all the ways that ice cream is different from Facebook Moments.

Ready? Let’s go!

Ice cream: 99 cents -- $5.

Facebook Moments: I don’t know what Facebook Moments is, but probably free. I assume there are ads.

 

AVAILABILITY

Ice cream: Online and offline.

Facebook Moments: Online only.

FLAVORS

Ice cream: Thousands.

Facebook Moments: I assume one.

Ice cream is:

Facebook Moments: Code, images, photos apparently.
